Movie

The 29-year-old director will 'absolutely' approach the superhero movie in 'the same personal and intimate way' as he approached 'Creed'.

AceShowbiz - It has been confirmed that Ryan Coogler will direct Marvel's "Black Panther". The 29-year-old filmmaker told HeyUGuys that he would "absolutely" approach the superhero movie in "the same personal and intimate way" as he approached "Creed".

Talking for the first time about helming the project, Ryan said, "I'm excited. I grew very into pop culture, very into comic books, so it's something that is just as personal to me as the last couple of films I was able to make. I feel really fortunate to be able to work on something I'm this passionate about again."

"We are fortunate to have such an esteemed filmmaker join the Marvel family. The talents Ryan showcased in his first two films easily made him our top choice to direct 'Black Panther'," producer Kevin Feige previously said in a statement. "Many fans have waited a long time to see Black Panther in his own film, and with Ryan we know we've found the perfect director to bring T'Challa's story to life."

"Black Panther" stars Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa, the prince of the fictional African nation of Wakanda who must rise to take the mantle of Black Panther after his father is killed. The character will make appearance in "Captain America: Civil War" later this year before his solo film is released in the U.S. on February 16, 2018.
