People's Choice Awards 2016: 'Furious 7' Dominates Movie Winners

The street-racing movie was named Favorite Movie and Favorite Action Movie at the People's Choice Awards, beating 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' which led movie nominees.

AceShowbiz - "Furious 7" was named Favorite Movie at the People's Choice Awards. The movie starring Vin Diesel managed to beat "Avengers: Age of Ultron" which led movie nominees.

The street-racing movie also earned the Favorite Action Movie Award, beating other nominees such as "Avengers: Age of Ultron", "The Divergent Series: Insurgent", "Jurassic World" and "Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials".

Though the second installment of "The Avengers" didn't get Favorite Movie and Favorite Action Movie titles, Chris Hemsworth, who plays Thor in the movie, earned the Favorite Actor Movie Award. "Insurgent" star Shailene Woodley won the Favorite Action Movie Actress.

Channing Tatum who entertained people with his erotic dance in "Magic Mike XXL" was named Favorite Movie Actor. Meanwhile, Favorite Movie Actress title went to "Our Brand Is Crisis" actress Sandra Bullock. Bullock's animated movie "Minions" was named Favorite Family Movie.

The award ceremony hosted by Jane Lynch took place at the Microsoft Theater on January 6. It also handed prizes to winners in the music, TV and digital categories.
