Adele's '25' Spends Fifth Week at No. 1 on Billboard 200, Breaks Another Record

The latest record from the British songstress becomes the only album to ever sell more than one million copies in three weeks.

AceShowbiz - Adele's "25" stays strong at No. 1 in its fifth week on Billboard 200. The third album from the British diva sold another 1.19 million equivalent album units, including 1.15 million in pure album sales (up 46 percent), in the week ending December 24, according to Nielsen Music.

"25" becomes the only album since Nielsen began tracking sales in 1991 to ever sell more than one million copies in three weeks. The record previously sold 3.38 million copies in its first week and 1.11 million in its second week. To date, the album has sold a total of more than 7 million copies.

Justin Bieber's "Purpose" remains steady at No. 2 with additional 229,000 units (up 38 percent), including 153,000 in pure album sales. Chris Brown's new "Royalty" tops other newcomers on the chart, debuting at No. 3 with 184,000 units (162,000 in pure album sales).

Pentatonix's "That's Christmas to Me" slips one rung to No. 4 with another 140,000 units, down less than 1 percent from last week. The "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" soundtrack enters the chart at No. 5 with 100,000 units (94,000 in pure album sales).

At No. 6, One Direction's "Made in the A.M." falls from last week's No. 4 with 92,000 units (up 38 percent). Chris Stapleton's "Traveller" is at No. 7 with 87,000 units (up 41 percent), and Taylor Swift's "1989" rises 9-8 with 73,000 units (up 49 percent).

The Weeknd's "Beauty Behind the Madness" drops four places to No. 9 with 72,000 units (up 13 percent), while another Adele album, "21", rounds out the top 10 with 71,000 units (up 46 percent).
