Meek Mill to Lose Money and Movie Role Due to Court Ruling

The rapper is at the peak of his career but a Pennsylvania judge has banned him from working and leaving the state.

AceShowbiz - Meek Mill is not only going to lose a lot of money after the recent harsh court ruling but also future opportunities. The rapper has been banned from working or performing before a February 5 sentencing, meaning he's not going to make it to the filming of "12 O'Clock Boys" in Hollywood, California.

A Pennsylvania judge prohibited him from leaving the state. This posed a serious threat to his career as he has booked a lot of gigs including the sold-out Vegas show with girlfriend Nicki Minaj at the end of the year. According to TMZ, he had also booked a recording studio in Los Angeles which costs $15,000 a week.

Mill faced probation stemming from a 2008 drug and gun case. The judge was pissed that he repeatedly violated the conditions of his probation such as attending last month's American Music Awards in Los Angeles, one of the five states he was banned from visiting prior to the hearing. The "Chiraq" rapper made several emotional pleas for the judge to reduce the rulings to no avail.

Mill actually was supposed to travel to Hollywood to shoot a role in the Will Smith-produced movie in November. He was due to play the role of Wheelie Wayne, Page Six reported. The pic is based on the infamous West Baltimore illegal-dirt-bike riders who were the subject of an indie documentary that debuted at SXSW in 2013. He failed to fly because he had to take a urine test that day.

"He's at a defining moment in his career. And they are prohibiting him from work," a source told Page Six. Sources also said that Mill was not the one to blame for his fall. Calls to his parole officer to arrange scheduling for work were not returned. He had also a series of misfortune in the urine tests. One came positive because of creatine and another could not be tested because a lab tech threw a sample in the trash.
