'I would've done it if I was asked, but I wasn't asked,' the singer explains why she didn't write and perform a song for 'Spectre'.

AceShowbiz - Lana Del Rey wouldn't say no if she was asked to record the theme song for the latest "James Bond" movie, "Spectre". In an interview for NME magazine's latest issue which she covers, the singer reveals that she would happily contribute to the film's soundtrack, but the offer to do so never came to her.

"I would've done it if I was asked, but I wasn't asked. I love all of the Bond music that's been put out over the years and I love soundtracks in general," she says before adding that she already has some songs from her latest album "Honeymoon" that will fit the movie's theme.

"There are a couple of songs on this record that have a Bond feel like '24' and 'Swan Song'," the 30-year-old songbird explained.

Del Rey was actually one of those expected to do the "Spectre" theme. No stranger to writing songs for films, she was nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe for tracks like "Young and Beautiful" from "The Great Gatsby" and "Big Eyes" from Tim Burton's film of the same name.

Sam Smith ended up being picked to record the "Spectre" track. He released "Writing's on the Wall", which became the first Bond song to reach No. 1 on the U.K.'s singles chart despite multiple criticisms from fans.
