The first trailer for the new installment of 'Star Trek' movie franchise will be shown at the screenings of 'The Force Awakens', which will open in U.S. theaters on December 18.

AceShowbiz - The first trailer for "Star Trek Beyond" will come earlier than expected. The Hollywood Reporter brings words that the first trailer for the upcoming sci-fi movie will debut before "Star Wars: The Force Awakens", which will open in U.S. theaters on December 18.
The move makes sense because "The Force Awakens" director J. J. Abrams, along with his Bad Robot production company, produced "Beyond". Abrams also directed the first two films in the franchise, 2009's "Star Trek" and 2013's "Star Trek Into Darkness". To attach "Star Trek" trailer to "Star Wars" can be assumed as a good move because both flicks have the same targets: sci-fi holics.
The site also reports that there are some other trailers that may be shown during "Star Wars" screenings, including those for "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice", "X-Men: Apocalypse", "Independence Day: Resurgence", "Captain America: Civil War" and "Finding Dory".
Details of "Star Trek Beyond" are still scarce, aside from the fact that the movie has wrapped production. Justin Lin directed the movie with a script penned by Simon Pegg. Starring Chris Pine, Pegg, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, John Cho and Anton Yelchin, the movie will arrive in North America on July 8, 2016.
