The British band is back with 'A Head Full of Dreams' which is planned to be their final album.

AceShowbiz - Coldplay released their mournful album "Ghost Stories" following frontman Chris Martin's "conscious uncoupling" from Gwyneth Paltrow last year. Now that the vocalist is fully recovered from heartbreak, he and his bandmates returned with a more colorful seventh studio installment, "A Head Full of Dreams".

Released on December 4, the record has received generally positive reviews from music critics. Among the highlights of the project are "Hymn for the Weekend" featuring Beyonce Knowles and "Everglow" on which Martin's actress ex Paltrow makes cameo. In addition to the two ladies, it boasts guest appearances from the lead singer's kids, his current girlfriend Annabelle Wallis, Tove Lo and Oasis' Noel Gallagher among others.

"A Head Full of Dreams" was initially planned to serve as Coldplay's final album. However, they've promised that they won't be disbanded even if the LP ends up being their last one. "We're definitely not splitting up," Martin explained in a recent interview with Rolling Stone, adding that the band just had no plan to do a follow-up.

However, he didn't rule out possibility that Coldplay might reunite for an eighth album in the future. "I have no idea what's going to happen. If one day we make another record, then that's wonderful," he shared.

While they didn't tour their 2014 album, the British quartet will definitely bring "A Head Full of Dreams" on the road in 2016. But they're first scheduled to take the Super Bowl 50 stage before kicking off the trek later in the year. They're due to headline the big game's halftime show at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California on February 7, 2016.
