While attending a recent press conference, LucasFilm president Kathlene Kennedy hinted that Boyega's Finn would make an appearance in the eighth episode of 'Star Wars' saga.

AceShowbiz - Although "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" has yet to hit theaters, new details about its sequel, "Star Wars Episode VIII", have been mounting. LucasFilm president Kathlene Kennedy recently hinted that John Boyega's Finn would return for the eighth episode of "Star Wars" saga.

The cast and crew members of "The Force Awakens" attended a special press conference on December 6 in Los Angeles to discuss the future of "Star Wars" franchise. Kennedy was asked about how the future of the franchise was planned. "We haven't mapped out every single detail yet, but obviously everybody is talking to one another, working together, and that collaboration is I think is what is going to guarantee that everybody has a say in how we move forward with this," she said.

The producer, who sat alongside Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Gwendoline Christie and Harrison Ford, then non verbally confirmed that Boyega would be involved in "Episode VIII". "And so far it's going great. J.J. [Abrams] and Rian [Johnson] already talk at length, because Rian is about to start shooting 'Episode VIII' - these guys [pats John Boyega on the back] are getting ready to head over in January," Kennedy explained. Since Kennedy mentioned "these guys," it's not impossible that Isaac, Christie and Ford's characters will also appear in "Episode VIII".

Aside from "Episode VIII", LucasFilm has released a brand new poster for "The Force Awakens" which features Isaac in full costume as Poe Dameron, the Black Leader of the Resistance.

"The Force Awakens" will arrive in the U.S. on December 18, while "Episode VIII" will open stateside on May 26, 2017.
