Amiyah Scott, who was once mentioned as the cast of 'Real Housewives of Atlanta', will play a singer on the alleged series.

AceShowbiz - There have been talks about an "Empire" spin-off for a few months now and it looks like the project is indeed in the works. "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" wannabe star Amiyah Scott has been cast in the companion series which is yet officially announced by FOX.

Scott is a transgender model who was reported in August to have joined the eighth season of "RHOA". However, she did not make the cut and got another gig instead. According to TMZ, "Empire" creator Lee Daniels asked her to read for his new show in August and allegedly thought she would be perfect as one of the singers in a girl group.

If the report were true, this would be Scott's first acting gig. Born Arthur, Scott began her transformation ten years ago at the age of 17. Her profile on ModelMayhem stated that she lived in New Orleans and was a model as well as makeup artist. Getting the role, Scott will be hooked to an acting coach, TMZ reported.

The spin-off is a prequel focusing on young Cookie Lyon, Taraji P. Henson's character on "Empire". At TCA this summer, Daniels pitched the idea of having a series which combines Cookie's life growing up in Philadelphia and the backstory of Terrence Howard's Lucious Lyon. "I think there is going to be a spinoff from 'Empire' without question. There is so much ripe story there," Daniels said.
