Leonardo DiCaprio NOT Raped by Bear in 'The Revenant'
Movie

The 20th Century Fox denied the circulating report that the actor was mauled and thrust by a bear during the film's grisly scene.

AceShowbiz - A lot of horrible things happened to Leonardo DiCaprio in "The Revenant" but bear indecency is not one of them. Twentieth Century Fox was quick to deny that the actor was raped by a grizzly bear in the wilderness film.

Drudge Report was the first to claim that DiCaprio was raped twice. The site's source said "the bear flips Leo over and thrusts and thrusts during the explicit mauling" during the beginning of the movie. It also described DiCaprio ripping open a horse and sleeping naked in its carcass.

But the alleged bear scene would not have been possible because the bear was female. "As anyone who has seen the movie can attest, the bear in the film is a female who attacks Hugh Glass because she feels he might be threatening her cubs," a statement from the studio explained. "There is clearly no rape scene with a bear."

But the grisly parts are true. The film, to be released in theaters January 8, received extreme reactions during early screenings with some audience escaping to the exits when the actor met the bear and violence began.

"[Those scenes] - amongst many other sequences - were some of the more difficult things I've ever had to do in my entire career," DiCaprio told Yahoo! in October. "But the end result is going to be one of the most immersive experiences audiences will ever have with what it would be like to come face-to-face with an animal of that magnitude that is incredibly primal."
