Empire has debuted a new 'Star Wars' photo which features the villain seemingly in a battle field while wielding his lightsaber.

AceShowbiz - Following the final trailer and the latest TV spot, a new image of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" has arrived. The photo features Adam Driver's Kylo Ren, the main villain in the upcoming movie.

The bad guy is seen standing amongst flames while wielding his lightsaber. He is flanked by First Order stormtroopers. Previous photos have revealed that Ren's crossguard lightsaber is based on an ancient design.

While Daisy Ridley, John Boyega and other cast members have confirmed that Ren is the biggest villain in the movie, Ren himself, Driver, never thought that the character was an evil after all. Speaking to Empire, he described the character through his personal point of view. "When they think of their actions as morally justified, it makes them dangerous and unpredictable," Driver pointed out. "There's no level they won't go to to accomplish what they're after. I never thought of the character as an evil person."

The seventh episode of "Star Wars" saga is set 30 years after the events of "Return of the Jedi", and features a new generation of swashbuckling heroes and shadowy villains, as well as the return of fan-favorite smugglers, princesses, and Jedi. Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford are back to reprise thir respective roles. Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis and Domnhall Gleeson are other names in the cast. Directed by J.J. Abrams, the movie is slated for a U.S. release on December 18.
