The heavy metal band sent their condolences to the victims of the horrifying terrorism act, saying 'love overshadows evil'.

AceShowbiz - Eagles of Death Metal knows very well that "love overshadows evil". The American band was put on the spotlight after their Bataclan concert in Paris was raided by terrorists last week, an incident that killed almost a hundred.

The group commented on the attack for the first time in a statement posted on their Facebook and Twitter page on Wednesday, November 18. The band said they were safely home but "horrified and still trying to come to terms with what happened in France". They sent their condolences to their fallen entourage, including merchandise manager Nick Alexander, and their killed fans.

"Although bonded in grief with the victims, the fans, the families, the citizens of Paris and all those affected by terrorism, we are proud to stand together, with our new family, now united by a common goal of love and compassion," the band wrote.

The statement continued, "We would like to thank the French police, the FBI, the U.S. and French State Departments, and especially all those at ground zero with us who helped each other as best they could during this unimaginable ordeal, proving once again that love overshadows evil." They signed off with "Vive la musique, vive la liberte, vive la France, and vive EODM."

The statement was accompanied by an image taken from the band's debut album "Peace Love Death Metal" of hand signs superimposed over the colors of French flag. The rest of Eagles of Death Metal concerts have been scrapped.
