Ryan Gosling Confirms He's in 'Blade Runner 2'
Movie

The actor will star opposite Harrison Ford who is reprising his role as Rick Deckard in the untitled sequel project.

AceShowbiz - Ryan Gosling will indeed make his first foray into sci-fi flicks in "Blade Runner 2". The "Blue Valentine" actor has confirmed that he's joining Harrison Ford in the sequel of Ridley Scott's 1982 film.

Producers revealed back in April this year that Gosling was in talks to star in the untitled Blade Runner project. While an official announcement is yet to be made, Gosling's role in the movie remains a mystery. The actor himself was secretive in an interview with Collider when talking about the casting. He joked that "there's a chip in me and if I say anything more I'll explode if I say anything else."

The "Blade Runner" sequel is scheduled to start principal photography in the summer of 2016. Dennis Villeneuve steps up as director in place of Scott who is now serving as producer. Plotline is yet revealed but Scott said in September that Ford is going to be a Replicant. It sparked a curiosity because a replicant's lifetime is usually not more than 4 years. The first movie was more than three decade ago, meaning the sequel must explain how Ford's Rick Deckard survives that long. "I'm not going to tell you. You'll have to see the story. It'll all make sense," Scott said.

"Blade Runner 2" is scheduled to hit theaters in 2017.
