The 46-year-old actor was thrown off a horse while filming a scene of his new Canadian series 'The Code'.

AceShowbiz - Former "Beverly Hills, 90210" star Jason Priestley was filming a horse-riding scene for his new Canadian series "The Code" when a mishap happened. The actor suffered a concussion as a result of being thrown off a horse but assured fans that he was on the mend.

The actor "fell from a horse and was subsequently taken to the hospital as a precaution. He was examined by doctors and discharged the same day," eOne and Canadian TV network Global Television said in a statement. The network added that Priestley was in "great spirits and looking forward to returning to work next week."

Priestley chose to tell his fans first hand. "Hey guys, thanks for all the kind words," he tweeted on Wednesday. "It's true, I did get thrown off a horse on set ...I got my bell rung pretty good." He continued, "Because I have a history of concussions, they took me to see a neurologist for an assessment. He advised I take a few days off as I had suffered a concussion."

Priestley was involved in a car crash at the Kentucky Speedway back in 2002, suffering a concussion and other serious injuries.

"But I am definitely on the mend and looking forward to getting back to work with all the wonderful people on 'The Code'," Priestley wrote. He stars as an ex-hockey player turned investigator in the 10-episode series that will premiere on Canada's Global network in 2016.
