The 50-year-old actress dismisses rumors that the sequel to the 1993 comedy will happen, saying that it's just an internet sensation.

AceShowbiz - Rumors that "Hocus Pocus 2: Rise of the Elderwitch" will happen have been circulating around the internet. Following the rumors, one of its original stars, Sarah Jessica Parker, cleared things up, saying that it's not likely to happen.

Speaking to Vulture, the "Sex and the City" alum said that it's just an internet sensation. "I think it's just on the World Wide Web," she said of the rumors. "We've all been exchanging funny, not-reality-based messages to one another. [That's] as much as I know."

Earlier this week, star Bette Midler revealed the real reason why the sequel has yet to be made. "Breaking news!! SEQUEL DELAYED!! @Disney having trouble finding a virgin! #HocusPocus," she wrote on Twitter while mentioning fellow stars Parker and Kathy Najimy.

Najimy also commented on the rumors about the sequel, asking fans to tweet Disney if they really want the movie to happen. "HP people. I wish o wish I could tell U yay or nay. Bt it's not up 2 moi. Tweet @DisneyPictures_ perhaps they can fulfill ur witches (wishes)," Najimy wrote.

Many of the people involved in 1993's "Hocus Pocus" have expressed hopes of making a follow-up. Midler, Parker, Najimy and director Kenny Ortega have said that they will definitely sign on if the movie happens. "I wouldn't mind doing a sequel. I think it'd be great to revisit it with the same women," the director said. "The Sanderson Sisters deserve another opportunity to land in the middle of something and do it again. They're too much fun."
