Roger Moore Doesn't Like the Idea of Female Bond and Gay Bond

The 'View to a Kill' actor says James Bond can't be gay or woman because 'that wasn't what Ian Fleming wrote.'

AceShowbiz - After seemingly suggesting that James Bond couldn't be black but later denying ever saying it, Roger Moore caused a buzz again with his latest comments on the possible next incarnations of the 007 spy agent. The 88-year-old actor wasn't keen with the idea of a female Bond or a gay Bond.

"I have heard people talk about how there should be a lady Bond or a gay Bond. But they wouldn't be Bond for the simple reason that wasn't what Ian Fleming wrote," the former 007 told the Daily Mail. "It is not about being homophobic or, for that matter, racist - it is simply about being true to the character."

Contrary to Moore's opinion, Daniel Craig who is the current Bond said, "Anything's possible. You can do anything as long as it's credible and it works." Fellow Bond star Pierce Brosnan echoed the sentiment as saying, "Sure, why not?" although he doubted producers would allow it.

The latest Bond movie, "Spectre", is coming out in U.K. on October 26. Directed by "Skyfall" helmer Sam Mendes, it is supported by Christoph Waltz, Naomie Harris, Dave Bautista, and Ralph Fiennes. In more than one occasion, Craig suggested that it might be his last 007 film.
