The a capella group scores their first No. 1 album on the chart as their self-titled effort debuts atop the list with a little over 98,000 units.

AceShowbiz - Pentatonix comes out as the winner in the tough battle against Demi Lovato for the No. 1 spot on Billboard 200. The a capella group's self-titled album has officially landed atop this week's list with a little over 98,000 equivalent album units, according to Nielsen Music. That figure includes 88,000 in pure album sales, the five-piece's best opening week yet.

"Pentatonix", the group's first full-length project of new material, gives them their first No. 1 release on the chart. It also marks their fifth consecutive top 10 effort, following 2014's "That's Christmas to Me" (No. 2), 2014's "PTX, Vol. III" EP (No. 5), 2013's "PTX, Vol. II" (No. 10) and 2013's "PTXMAS" (No. 7).

Trailing closely behind the former "The Sing-Off" contestants' LP is Lovato's "Confident". Released through her and frequent collaborator Nick Jonas' own Safehouse Records in partnership with Island Records and Hollywood Records, the album debuts at the runner-up spot with 98,000 equivalent albums including 77,000 in pure album sales.

The Weeknd's "Beauty Behind the Madness" remains at No. 3 with another 62,000 units. The Canadian R&B singer is followed by Machine Gun Kelly who collects his second top 10 set with "General Admission" which enters the chart at No. 4 with 56,000 units. His previous LP "Lace Up" also arrived at No. 4 back in 2012 with 51,000 copies in its first week.

Fetty Wap's self-titled debut album bows at No. 5, falling from last week's No. 4 with 48,000 units. At No. 6, The Game's "The Documentary 2.5" starts with 48,000. It's the second half of the rapper's follow-up record to his 2005 album "The Documentary". The first half debuted at No. 2 a week ago and is now sitting at No. 11.

Selena Gomez's "Revival" plunges from last week's top spot to this week's No. 7 with 46,000 units in its second week. Meanwhile, Drake and Future's "What a Time to Be Alive" jumps three rungs to No. 8 with 43,000.

Closing out the top 10 are Taylor Swift's "1989" that falls to No. 9 with 37,000 units and "The Color Before the Sun" by rock act Coheed and Cambria which opens at No. 10 with 32,000.
