The 'Real Housewives of Atlanta' alum announces on Twitter she will play Matron 'Mama' Morton in the long-running hit musical.

AceShowbiz - NeNe Leakes is moving back to Broadway. The former "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" star announced on Twitter on Thursday, October 22 that she would star as Matron "Mama" Morton in long-running hit musical "Chicago".
NeNe posted a photo of her "Chicago" poster along with caption, "I'm so excited to say I am headed back to BROADWAY in CHICAGO as Matron Mama Morton #neneismama." The musical will play at the Ambassador Theatre from November 23 to December 20.

"Chicago" is NeNe's first return to Broadway since her last year debut as Cinderella's wicked stepmother in "Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella". Rumer Willis is currently starring as star murder defendant Roxie Hart in "Chicago" and will take her final bow on November 1. NeNe's role was famously played by Queen Latifah in the 2002 film adaptation while Rumer's role was played by Renee Zellweger.
NeNe previously starred as Coach Roz Washington on Fox's "Glee" and appeared on NBC's "The New Normal" and ABC's "Dancing with the Stars". She didn't return for "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" season 8.
