AceShowbiz - Making a reboot of a famous movie seems to be a new trend in Hollywood film industry. Variety brings words that Ellen Page is in negotiations to star in a remake of Joel Schumacher's 1990 sci-fi thriller "Flatliners".

Niels Arden Oplev, director of "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" is attached to helm the upcoming film with a screenplay penned by Ben Ripley. David Blackman and Laurence Mark are producing.

The original "Flatliners" film starred Julia Roberts, Kiefer Sutherland, Oliver Platt, William Baldwin and Kevin Bacon. The film centers on a team of medical students who were experimenting with near-death experiences in an attempt to learn about the afterlife. There is a speculation that Page will step in the role previously played by Roberts, although it's not confirmed yet.

Page was last seen in "X-Men: Days of Future Past". She is now busy promoting her drama "Freeheld", in which she stars opposite Julianne Moore and Steve Carell. Her movie, "Into the Forest", also premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival back in September.
