Movie

Steven J. Davis says during a Q and A at Mipcom that 'Transformers' 5, 6, 7 and 8 are in the works.

AceShowbiz - Hasbro has confirmed that there will be four more sequels of "Transformers". Hasbro chief Steven J. Davis announced during a Q&A at Mipcom on Saturday, October 3 that "Transformers" 5, 6, 7 and 8 were in the works.

"You're going to see a new Transformers movie coming from Hasbro and Paramount and Michael Bay and our other partners," Steven said. "In fact, we just finished, as some of you may have read, just an incredible experience. We decided that we wanted to plot out the next 10 years of the Transformers franchise, so we got together in a room over a three-month period of time."

"Nine of some of the most creative writers I have ever worked with, shepherded by Akiva Goldsman, who many of you may know won an Academy Award for A Beautiful Mind and written a bunch of great movies," he continued, "And they plotted out the next 10 years of Transformers. Similarly, we are doing the same in television and in digital. So stay tuned, 'Transformers 5' is on its way, and 6 and 7 and 8."

Back in September, Michael confirmed that he's in talks to direct "Transformers 5" but the deal wasn't official yet. "Re: directing TF5. No, it's not official. I have not committed to any idea as of yet. Just met with Steven and we are discussing," he tweeted. Mark Wahlberg is set to return.

Akiva Goldsman is writing with others in writers room including "Ant-Man" writers Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari, "Black Hawk Down" scribe Ken Nolan, Christina Hodson and Lindsey Beer, "The Walking Dead" creator Robert Kirkman, "Iron Man" writers Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, "Pacific Rim 2" writer Zak Penn, "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" writer Jeff Pinkner, "Daredevil" showrunner Steven DeKnight, and Geneva Robertson-Dworet.
