'Rings', the third film in the horror franchise, will not hit theaters this November after Paramount Pictures moved up two of its other projects.

AceShowbiz - "The Ring" sequel won't hit theaters this year as previously scheduled. Paramount Pictures announced that "Rings" had been pulled out of its November 13 release date to now open in theaters next year.

There is yet a new date, but Variety says it will most likely be in the first quarter of the year. Should it retain the old date, "Rings" would be up against Angelina Jolie-directed drama "By the Sea", Chilean miners drama "The 33" and comedy "Love the Coopers".

Paramount is gearing up for the release of two other movies, "The Big Short" and "Anomalisa". Both are moved to this year's calendar in order to qualify for Oscar run.

Previously known as "The Ring 3D", "Rings" is directed by Spanish filmmaker F. Javier Gutierrez. "The Big Bang Theory" star Johnny Galecki as well as newcomers Matilda Lutz and Alex Roe star in the horror flick about a cursed video tape that returns to strike terror again. It takes place 13 years after the events of the first film.
