TV

Julianne Hough, Vanessa Hudgens, Big Time Rush's Carlos Pena Jr., and Keke Palmer are also cast in the live TV production which airs early next year.

AceShowbiz - Carly Rae Jepsen and Jessie J are the latest additions to FOX's "Grease Live". Jepsen who previously starred on Broadway's "Cinderella" will play the iconic Pink Lady and fan-favorite school dropout, Frenchy. Jessie J will open with a new version of Barry Gibb's "Grease (Is the Word)" from the 1978 film.

Other new additions are Aaron Tveit ("Les Miserables") as Danny who was made famous by John Travolta, Carlos Pena Jr. (Big Time Rush) as Kenickie, David Del Rio as T-Bird "Putzie," and Kether Donohue rounds out the Pink Ladies as Jan.

They join previously-announced members like Keke Palmer ("Victorious, "Scream Queens") who is cast as Marty, Vanessa Hudgens ("High School Musical", Broadway's "Gigi") as Rizzo, and Julianne Hough ("Rock of Ages") as Sandy.

The adaptation will air January 31, 2016. Zach Woodlee ("Glee") will serve as a choreographer. It will reintroduce and reimagine some of the show's most memorable moments, great music and timeless love story to an entirely new generation. The role of Sandy played by Olivia Newton-John in the original movie hasn't been announced.

In this TV version, the beginning of senior year means the end of Danny and Sandy's summer romance - until Sandy unexpectedly transfers to Danny's high school. With their friends pulling them in different directions, it's up to Danny and Sandy to stay hopelessly devoted as they make their way from Rydell High to a new frontier.

FOX follows the footsteps of NBC which already did "Peter Pan Live!", "The Sound of Music Live!", and "The Wiz".
