The 'Girlfriend' songstress will spend time with a grand prize winner who will also have a speaking role in her upcoming animated movie 'Charming'.

AceShowbiz - Avril Lavigne marked her 31st birthday on Monday, September 28 by launching a global campaign to raise funds for those who are also struggling with Lyme Disease. She wrote on Twitter, "For my b-day, I want to help people w/ #Lyme disease. Join me & you could be in #CharmingwithAvril: https://Prizeo.com/Avril @AvrilFoundation."

The 5-week campaign kicked off on Sunday, September 27. Once the campaign ends on November 9, a grand prize winner will be randomly chosen to spend time with Avril. The winner will also have a speaking role in upcoming animated film "Charming", which features Avril as the voice of Snow White.

Avril said in a statement, "I'm excited that this year's campaign is supporting people with Lyme disease and helping others to better understand the issue. My fans are always so supportive and ready to give back; I look forward to coming together for an issue that's so close to me."

In a video posted on YouTube, Avril thanked her fans for their support "through everything."

She also posted on Instagram a photo of her holding a sign which read, "Want to be in Charming with me? Prizeo.com/Avril #CharmingWithAvril."

Avril opened up about her struggle with Lyme Disease in an interview with PEOPLE back in April. "I had no idea a bug bite could do this," she shared. "I was bedridden for five months. I could barely eat, and when we went to the pool, I had to leave and go lie in bed. My friends asked, 'What's wrong?' I didn't know."

"I felt like I couldn't breathe, I couldn't talk and I couldn't move," the "Complicated" singer recalled. "I thought I was dying. There were definitely times I couldn't shower for a full week because I could barely stand. It felt like having all your life sucked out of you."
