While no one seems to be pleased with Jamal as the new boss of Empire Entertainment, Cookie and her cohorts decide to start their own record label.

AceShowbiz - "Empire" returned with its second season on Wednesday, September 22. While Lucious Lyon was incarcerated after killing a family member, Jamal was in charge of Empire Entertainment. However, none of his brothers, Andre and Hakeem, seemed happy with him as the big boss.

Amid family tension, Cookie and her cohorts decide to start their own record label, as teased in a preview airing following the season 2 premiere. "We're gonna start our own company!" Cookie declares in the teaser.

The next episode titled "Without a Country" is airing on Wednesday, September 30 on FOX. According to its synopsis, the episode will feature guest star Becky G as a lead singer of a girl group Hakeem forms as his first project for the new record label.

"Meanwhile, Lucious, feeling extra pressure from a bloodthirsty prosecutor, hires a new lawyer (guest star Andre Royo) and records an epic track from inside jail. In Lucious' absence, Jamal neglects his music and makes business moves that further his journey toward becoming every bit as ruthless as his father," the synopsis continues.
