The actor apologized to his fans for the misunderstanding, saying his phone was stolen and his social media accounts were hacked.

AceShowbiz - Gregg Sulkin almost landed on hot water after caught using the N-word on his Snapchat. The 23-year-old actor claimed his account was hacked and apologized for it.

A picture appeared on his account on Friday, September 18 evening of the "Faking It" star and his girlfriend Bella Thorne posing with gangsta look. Underneath the black and white selfie snap, which looked like it was taken inside a car, was written "What Up N***a". Fans quickly criticized the actor for the use of inappropriate language.

Sulkin responded to it on Saturday afternoon, E! Online reported. He tweeted, "Unfortunately my social media accounts were hacked yesterday and my phone was stolen. Things were posted to my account that I find appalling and unacceptable."

He added, "I believe that being part of a religious minority myself, racism is an ignorance that I do not and will not tolerate in my life. I would like to apologize to my fans and anyone that was offended by the postings that were unfortunately beyond my control."

On Friday evening, Thorne also noted on her Twitter account that Sulkin lost his phone. "Omg Gregg lost his phone whoever is tweeting obvi isn't him, hacked," she wrote.
