Coleman is said to make her last appearance as Clara Oswald before the Christmas special because she will play Queen Victoria on ITV's drama series.

AceShowbiz - Jenna-Louise Coleman is leaving Doctor Who again. The actress, who was first reported to quit the show in 2014, is now said to exit the hit BBC series before this year's Christmas special.

The Mirror reports that the English actress is departing the long-running sci-fi series to take on a role on an ITV drama series. The 29-year-old beauty reportedly will play Queen Victoria on the new eight-part series.

Words are, Coleman has already filmed her final scenes for "Doctor Who". BBC has declined to comment on report about Coleman's exit.

Despite initially planning to leave the show in 2014, Coleman confirmed in late last year that she would return for another season. "It's wonderful. I get a whole other series of stories with the Doctor and I couldn't walk away with the story being unresolved," she explained her decision to stay on the show.

However, she's always ready to leave as she told the Radio Times earlier this week, "You're in 'Doctor Who' knowing it will never last. It's constantly regenerating, so you want to make your time count and enjoy the adventure for the fleeting time you're here."

"Doctor Who" will return with 12 new episodes on September 19 on BBC America.
