Drake, Big Sean, Nicki Minaj Lead Nominations for 2015 BET Hip-Hop Awards

Drizzy dominates the pack with 12 nominations while Big Sean trails behind with 10 nods Nicki Minaj follows with nine.

AceShowbiz - Nominees for the upcoming BET Hip-Hop Awards are unveiled. Drake receives 12 nods, becoming the top nominees at the event for the second consecutive year. Big Sean follows Drizzy's domination with 10 nominations and Nicki Minaj trails closely behind with 9. Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole get eight each.

Those five stars are pitted against one another in the categories of Lyricist of the Year, MVP of the Year, and Album of the Year. Drake and Sean add five more nominations, thanks to their team-up with Kanye West on "Blessings". Meanwhile, Minaj's collaboration with Beyonce Knowles earns her two more nods.

Common and John Legend's Oscar-winning collaboration "Glory" From the Martin Luther King movie "Selma" is nominated for Impact Track. It faces off Sean's "One Man Can Change the World" in which Legend is featured with Kanye, two of Cole's songs "Apparently" and "Be Free", as well as Lamar's "Alright".

The winners will be feted at a ceremony taped October 9 at the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center. Snoop Dogg returns as a host for the third year in a row.
