Recent visitors of Skellig Michael, the island where 'Episode VIII' will be filmed, shared some behind-the-scenes images as well as reports about possible scenes which will be shot in the location.

AceShowbiz - Following the announcement that "Star Wars Episode VIII" will start filming in Ireland this month, several behind-the-scenes images have made their way online. The images feature director Rian Johnson along with other movie crew members preparing for the shoot on Skellig Michael.

According to a local newspaper, the director, producer Ram Bergman and head of photography Steve Yedlin visited Skellig Michael and "spent a number of hours surveying the area." However, there is no cast member spotted in the location.

Besides the first look at the filming location, there are rumors about the movie plot. Recent visitors of the island told Star Wars Episode 7 News that "tents and tarps full of equipment were all over the island completely unguarded apart from one tent which lay on top of a fake sandy coloured rock built for the filming." There is a speculation that Luke Skywalker will be standing on that hill.

The source also mentioned that there were droids already locked away on the island, presumably BB-8 or R2-D2 or both, and weapons which appeared to be lightsabers. The source also discovered that the set had been described as a "Jedi Monastery."

Since Mark Hamill's family are currently in the U.K., which is where they were based when the actor was shooting his scenes on Skellig Michael for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens", it's probably safe to assume that Luke will appear in the Skellig Michael scenes. However, the "Episode VIII" filming, which was scheduled for Monday, has been canceled due to bad weather.

Oscar Isaac and Benicio Del Toro will star in "Episode VIII" which is slated for a U.S. release on May 26, 2017.
