The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' actor jokes that he would 'fly to Australia and assault' Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce if his wife Amber Heard is jailed.

AceShowbiz - Johnny Depp opened up about his dogs drama in Australia during an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Thursday night, September 10. Johnny denied he smuggled the dogs into the country.

"We were under the impression that we had all the paperwork done with the dogs, we were there with the dogs in front of everybody," the "Black Mass" actor explained, before cracking a joke, "There might have been other things smuggled."

Jimmy Kimmel then played a clip from Australian Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce's television address about Johnny's dogs earlier this year. Barnaby threatened to kill the pets if they weren't flown back to the U.S.

"What kind of a maniac is this," Jimmy said of Barnaby, to which Johnny replied, "Maybe he's just doing his job." The "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" actor added, "This sort of like, weird, sweaty ... gut man, who decided that you know, two, 5 or 6-inch teacup Yorkshire terriers would harm the country in some way, he's got a point, especially when you consider that Australia has the most poisonous creatures on Earth."

Jimmy then played another clip which showed Barnaby mentioned Johnny's been PEOPLE's Sexiest Man Alive twice. "What did one thing have to do with the other - that I had been voted some kind of thing?" Johnny asked. "I can't quite equate the two - it was funny."

Johnny was then asked about his wife Amber Heard who is facing legal battle over the dog-smuggling case. "They threatened to put her in jail, isn't that true?" Jimmy asked. Johnny then replied with a joke, "If they did that, I'd just fly to Australia and assault that man. So that I could go to jail."
