Vivica A. Fox Joins Cast of 'Empire' as Cookie's Sister

The 'Kill Bill' actress will appear in the season 2 of the FOX hit series as the older sister of Taraji P. Henson's character.

AceShowbiz - Vivica A. Fox is added to the cast of "Empire" season 2. According to Entertainment Weekly, the "Independence Day" actress will debut as the older sister of Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) in episode 8.

While viewers have already met Cookie's younger sister Carol (Tasha Smith), "Empire" executive producer Ilene Chaiken says, "Cookie's other family members are troublesome to say the least." Co-creator Lee Daniels previously said he was potentially interested in a spin-off showcasing Cookie's family when she was younger.

Vivica joins an already impressive season two guest cast list which already included Adam Rodriguez as Cookie's new love interest, Chris Rock as a prison inmate of Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard), Ludacris as a prison guard, Pitbull as himself and Marisa Tomei as Mimi Whiteman, a billionaire lesbian who gets involved with Lucious' family business. Kelly Rowland will also appear in a flashback as Lucious' mother.

"Empire" will return on September 23 at 9:00 P.M. on FOX.
