Zack Snyder Disses Marvel, Calls 'Ant-Man' Flavor of the Week
Movie

The 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' director pokes fun at the Paul Rudd-starring superhero movie while responding to Steven Spielberg's remarks.

AceShowbiz - Zack Snyder takes a shot at Marvel. The "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" director explains what set DC movies apart from other superhero flicks in response to Steven Spielberg's comments about the death of the comic book films, and he mocks "Ant-Man" in the process.

"I feel like he's right," he says of Spielberg's remarks in a chat with The Daily Beast. "But I feel like Batman and Superman are transcendent of superhero movies in a way, because they're Batman and Superman. They're not just, like, the flavor of the week Ant-Man - not to be mean, but whatever it is. What is the next Blank-Man?"

Snyder also addresses fans' concerns about Batman getting more screen time than Superman. "Only in that because it's a different Batman than the Batman that was in the Chris Nolan movies," he explains. "So we have a little bit more explaining to do - and you just had a whole Superman movie. But I think only in that way, because you need to understand where Batman is with everything. And thats more toward the beginning, but it evens back out as it goes on."

In a separate interview with News.com.au, the director responds to rumors suggesting that George Miller could direct "Man of Steel 2". He says, "George doing one of the DC movies? Oh my God, absolutely. George can do anything he wants, in my opinion."

He adds, "We haven't talked about it, and to be frank I just didn't know what he was thinking of doing next. But yeah, if I was to think he had any interest in them of course I'm happy to talk to him." Calling "Mad Max: Fury Road" a "f**king great movie," he is "so open" to have Miller.
