The 'Guardians of the Galaxy' actor honored Dan Pratt for being a traditional father to him and brother Cully.

AceShowbiz - Chris Pratt was feeling sentimental over Labor Day weekend. The "Guardians of the Galaxy" star paid a tribute to his father on Twitter, sharing an old photo of Dan Pratt and his two sons while out fishing.

"Your to do list," Pratt tweeted on Saturday, September 5. "1) have kids 2) play outside 3) teach them to fish 4) take pictures." In the pic, Chris and his brother Cully posed next to their dad and held fishing rods. "Thanks Dad. Miss you man," Chris added.

Dan Pratt died last year while Chris was filming "Jurassic World". He suffered from multiple sclerosis for many years. "He was pretty ornery to begin with and so that just made him more ornery," the actor told GQ. "He had lost interest in life: 'Well, I've got this disease now, I'm gonna die'. He refused to take any medication or do anything like physical therapy."

But Chris was grateful for what Dan taught him in life. "Part of us appreciate that he made us tough, you know, through sort of emotional scarification. Just an old school kind of dad. Which in a way is actually a good thing," he said.

Although Dan was pretty much watching TV for the last 10 years of his life, Chris knew he appreciated what his actor son had become. "In his own way he let me know that he was proud of me," Chris said. "He didn't really react in any way, one way or another, but he was definitely proud. If I was on TV, he watched everything I was in. So it felt like I was able to communicate with him through doing work that was on TV."

Chris himself is a father to three-year-old Jack. He is married to actress Anna Faris.
