Some new stills from the game adaptation give a look at the bad-tempered birds in their island as well as the porcine spokesman.

AceShowbiz - Rovio Entertainment and Sony Pictures have released three new images from game adaptation "Angry Birds", giving a first look at the green pig villains. Meanwhile, the other images tease the all-bird island paradise along with its inhabitants.

Ever since the mobile game "Angry Birds" was released in 2009, it has been downloaded more than 3 billion times, making it one of the most popular games ever. Some fans become obsessed with the game and are curious to know why the birds are so angry.

Now people can feel relieved as the upcoming movie will reveal the reasons why the birds can't control their anger. "The question Rovio gets more than anything is 'Why are these birds so angry?' " said producer John Cohen ("Despicable Me"). "This is the origin story for how that conflict came to exist between birds and little green piggies."

It seems like the movie will take some ideas from the game, which appeal is to destroy the villainous pigs that stole the birds' eggs. This invasion is led by three birds Red (Jason Sudeikis), Chuck (Josh Gad) and Bomb (Danny McBride), who have the same anger management problems. They team up to fight back when their nests are infiltrated by the pigs and their porcine spokesman, Leonard (Bill Hader).

Clay Kaytis, who is directing the film with Fergal Reilly, opened up about finding the right person to voice Red. "He's a curmudgeon," he said. "We knew we had to find an actor who could say these things and still be charming, and that was Jason."

The film also features Maya Rudolph (Matilda) and "Game of Thrones" star Peter Dinklage (Mighty Eagle). The script is written by Jon Vitti ("The Simpsons"). The animated comedy is slated for a U.S. release on May 20, 2016.
