AceShowbiz - Having had numerous film projects to complete, Cate Blanchett is adding one more to her resume as she reportedly has been attached to star as Hollywood legend Lucille Ball in an authorized biopic that Aaron Sorkin is set to write for Escape Artists. A representative for Blanchett declined to comment on the report, while a representative for Sorkin did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
According to TheWrap, the upcoming biopic "will chronicle Ball's 20-year marriage to Desi Arnaz, with whom she starred on the classic TV sitcom 'I Love Lucy%'." Lucille and Desi's children, Lucy Arnaz Jr. and Desi Arnaz Jr., will be on hand producing with Escape Artists, whose executive Jenna Block is set to oversee development of the project on behalf of the Sony-based company.
Blanchett can next be seen starring in upcoming lesbian romance "Carol", which has been slated to hit limited theaters in the U.S. on November 20. Last month, the first trailer for the film was unveiled.
