AceShowbiz - The name of Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter's newborn son has been revealed. The new parents, as reported by Daily Mail Online, named him Christopher Carlton Cumberbatch.
It was revealed that Christopher was the name of the character that Benedict played in Sir Tom Stoppard's TV adaptation of "Parade's End". Carlton, meanwhile, was a family middle name shared by Benedict and his actor father Timothy.
Benedict and Sophie, who is a theater director/playwright/actress, got married in a private ceremony held on Valentine's Day this year on the Isle of Wright. The couple announced the birth of Christopher, their first child together, in June.
"Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are delighted to announce the arrival of their beautiful son," a representative for the actor said in a statement at that time. "We would kindly ask everyone to respect the family's privacy during these next few precious weeks."
Most recently, Benedict has been starring in "Hamlet" at London's Barbican Theatre. The 39-year-old actor was spotted greeting tons of waiting fans outside the venue on Thursday night, August 27.
