'Downton Abbey' New Trailer Teases Final Season

A rendition of 'Time to Say Goodbye' is played as footage showing the Crawleys and the residents of the Yorkshire country estate is shown.

AceShowbiz - The first trailer for the next season of "Downton Abbey" has arrived for viewing pleasure. "If I could stop history in its tracks, maybe I would. But I can't, Carson, for neither you nor I can hold back time," Hugh Bonneville's Lord Grantham tell Jim Carter's Mr. Carson.

The footage featuring fan-favorite characters played by Maggie Smith, Michelle Dockery, and Joanne Froggatt is shown in the minute-long video. A rendition of Sarah Brightman's "Time to Say Goodbye" is played as a backsound for the farewell season.

The period hit series about the Crawley family will conclude in 1925, picking up six months after the last season left up. The show will return in the United Kingdom on September 20 on ITV before later debuting Stateside on January 3, 2016 on PBS.
