The Backstreet Boys member is confirmed to compete for the Mirror Ball, joining Victor Espinoza and Bindi Irwin.

AceShowbiz - Nick Carter is the latest addition to "Dancing with the Stars" season 21. The boybander joins previously-confirmed contestants, American Pharoah Jockey Victor Espinoza and Bindi Irwin, the daughter of the late "Crocodile Hunter" star Steve Irwin.

"We're not playing games with your heart - @NickCarter is on this season of #dwts!" the show confirmed the news on Twitter. The 35-year-old singer responded with a video of his dancing from the Backstreet Boys heydays, "You ain't seen nothing yet."

Before deciding to join "DWTS", Nick asked for an advice from NSYNC's Joey Fatone who competed for the Mirror Ball in season 4 and finished second with Kym Johnson. "He talks about it all the time and I was really debating if I wanted to do it, and he said, 'It's a great experience, it keeps you in shape and it'll teach you a lot of stuff,' " Carter told Us Weekly. "He said, 'You'll get what you put into it.' And I'm a hard worker, so I think it'll be fun."

Another reason he decides to do the show is his rivalry with younger brother, Aaron Carter, who finished in the fifth place with Karina Smirnoff in season 9. "My brother was on it; he did great; and he's a great little dancer and entertainer so I saw it through his eyes throughout that experience," he said. "And there's a lot of competitiveness in me and I think there's a little something inside of me that says, 'Okay, I'm going to go there and represent the Carter name and do even better than what he did!' "

"DWTS" will kick off the new season on September 14 at 8 P.M. ET on ABC. Derek Hough, Smirnoff, Valentin Chmerkovskiy, Mark Ballas, Artem Chigvintsev, Allison Holker, Sharna Burgess, Peta Murgatroyd, and Witney Carson have signed up as pro dancers for this coming edition. Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Julianne Hough will return as judges while Len Goodman won't.
