Ed Sheeran Will Take Long Music Break to Work for Charity

The Grammy-nominated singer will devote his time to work at a charity shop in his hometown and build a youth center.

AceShowbiz - Ed Sheeran, being the philanthropist that he's always been, is planning to take a break from music to work at a charity shop. It has been reported that he's going off the radar for about a month to volunteer at Sue Ryder charity shop in his hometown of Framlingham, Surrey.

The 24-year-old singer will start working at the shop next month. "There's a good possibility he will volunteer here," the shop's manager Jacqui Bell told The Mirror. "We'd welcome him. My volunteers, who are aged between 61 and 91, know Ed because he was brought up in the town. They would be fine working with him."

He additionally is giving back to his community by renovating. "He purchased the old police station to open up a youth club for 1million pounds, so he'll also be helping there when its up and running. I think he will draw the youngsters into our shop which would be good for us," Bell added.

Sheeran is famous for his devotion to his hometown. Beside making donation to local causes, he gave away all of the wardrobe he had worn at the Grammy Awards for charity auction. "Given my whole wardrobe to a bunch of charity shops. All stuff worn on shoots, videos and live. Stuff ranging from the Ralph hoodies, Fenchurch T-shirts and Nike trainers (sic)," he tweeted back then.
