Mare Winningham Returns for 'American Horror Story: Hotel'

The actress, who appeared on 'Freak Show' and 'Coven', will portray a laundress at the titular hotel.

AceShowbiz - The cast of "American Horror Story: Hotel" keeps growing with the addition of another alum. Mare Winningham is set to return to the horror anthology series for the next installment to play a laundress at the titular hotel who works closely with Evan Peters' Mr. March, EW reports.

Winningham previously portrayed Pepper's (Naomi Grossman) sister on "Freak Show" and Kyle Spencer's (Peters) mother on "Coven". She joins other returning stars, including Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Wes Bentley, Denis O'Hare, Finn Wittrock, Lily Rabe and Chloe Sevigny.

The show has also tapped Lady GaGa, Cheyenne Jackson, Max Greenfield and Naomi Campbell to star, with Darren Criss reportedly in talks to join the cast. Recently, GaGa was spotted filming her scene at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA).

The singer plays Elizabeth, the hotel's owner, who is described as "a very wealthy social doyenne who is consumed with art and fashion and people." Series co-creator has praised GaGa, tweeting on August 12, "Lady Gaga is everything I dreamed of and more. Lovely, a total pro, and TERRIFYINGLY GENIUS in her role."

The new season of "American Horror Story" premieres Wednesday, October 7 on FX.
