AceShowbiz - Tobias Menzies is joining the cast of "Underworld: Next Generation". According to Deadline, the "Outlander" star will play a mysterious new Lycan leader named Marius in the fifth installment of "Underworld" film series.

Tobias, who portrays both devoted husband Frank Randall and villain Black Jack Randall on the Starz time-travel series, will join original cast members like Kate Beckinsale and Theo James. The upcoming project will be directed by Anna Foerster. Gary Lucchesi, Tom Rosenberg, Len Wiseman and Richard S. Wright will serve as producers for the horror action flick.

"Underworld 5" script, written by Cory Goodman, reportedly will focus on "a new and younger generation of vampires and werewolves who are locked in a seemingly never-ending battle between supernatural races." Production will begin in Prague in October for an October 21, 2016 release.

Anna previously helmed Tobias in the controversial season finale of "Outlander" which saw his character torturing and sexually assaulting the male protagonist played by Sam Heughan. Tobias will next be seen on upcoming limited series "The Night Manager" alongside Tom Hiddleston.

"Underworld: Awakening" grossed a total of $160,112,671 worldwide for a budget of $70 million, making it the first film in 2012 to pass the $100 million mark worldwide and the highest-grossing film in "Underworld" series domestically and worldwide.
