AceShowbiz - Newest medical drama "Chicago Med" hires Rachel DiPillo as a series regular. The actress will play one of the three new female regulars who are added in the wake of original cast Laurie Holden's departure.

DiPillo steps into the role of Dr. Sarah Reese, an emergency room intern who is fresh out of medical school. She will star opposite Torrey DeVitto who had just been cast as a pregnant ER physician. The show is still looking for an actress to play a female charge nurse before starting production in September.

"Chicago Med" is the second spin-off to Wolf Films and Universal TV's series "Chicago Fire". Holden appeared in a backdoor pilot in April but exited the series recently due to family commitment. The new series will revolve around the team in a Chicago hospital, starring Oliver Platt, Yaya DaCosta and Colin Donnell among others.

The 13-episode first season will premiere Tuesday, November 17 at 10 P.M. on NBC. "Chicago P.D." and "Chicago Fire", which began filming in July, will premiere September 30 and October 13 respectively.
