The Maroon 5 frontman rocks his new haircut while singing in between scenes showing various people dealing with hardship in their lives.

AceShowbiz - After producing lots of hits for high-profile artists, R. City a.k.a. Rock City is now taking the center stage with their own material. The duo comprising of brothers Theron "Uptown AP" and Timothy "A.I." Thomas recently teamed up with Adam Levine for a new song called "Locked Away", and they returned with its music video on Friday, August 14.

In the clip, Levine shows off his new super short haircut as he sings his hook in between scenes highlighting various tales of hardship and heartache. There's a little girl whose soldier father is about to leave for battle, a young lady who gets arrested, and a man who's fighting with his girlfriend over unpaid bills.

R. City isn't yet well known for their own music, but they have previously worked on numerous smash hits like Miley Cyrus' "We Can't Stop" and Nicki Minaj's "Only". They have also made contributions to the albums by Rihanna and Ariana Grande among others.

Their "Locked Away" was produced by Dr. Luke and was inspired by the Thomas brothers' personal experience of having a father who was in jail for six years when they were kids. The song will be featured on their major label debut album, which is due out later this year.

"It's our own genre," Theron explained their music in an interview with ET Online. "We call it Caribbean hip-hop. There are elements of rap and the islands. This is the first time most people will really hear us, so we want to come out with something big."
