The 'Pretty Little Liars' alum joins the latest 'Chicago Fire' spin-off as a series regular, playing a pregnant ER physician.

AceShowbiz - NBC's upcoming series "Chicago Med" has added an actress to its cast. Torrey DeVitto, who is best known for playing psycho nanny Carrie on "One Tree Hill" and Melissa Hastings on "Pretty Little Liars", is joining the new medical drama as a series regular.

She reportedly will play Dr. Lilly Manning, a pregnant ER physician, but other details of her role are currently unavailable. Her casting comes after "The Walking Dead" alum Laurie Holden, who appeared as troubled ER surgeon Dr. Hannah Tramble in the backdoor pilot, decided to bow out of the series.

DeVitto, however, is not a replacement to Holden since the show has been looking for three new female characters. The other two characters are charge nurse and a young, first-year resident.

At the Television Critics Association summer press tour on Thursday, August 13, "Chicago Med" creator Dick Wolf confirmed a four-way crossover with his other hit shows, "Chicago Fire", "Chicago P.D." and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit", would be coming in February.

"The crossovers are incredible ratings engines for us," Wolf admitted. "What we can't do is have them become common place. We basically have an agreement that we're going to do three this season, but they won't [always] include all the shows."

As for plans to resurrect "Law & Order" as a limited series, Wolf said, "As you heard, everybody wants to do it. It's a question of most people involved are very successful in their careers. To try to get everything in sequence is much more difficult than it looks on the outside. I am always an optimist. I would love to do it. I think I can speak for the network, they would love to do it if we can make it work."

"Chicago Med" kicks off Tuesday, November 17 at 10 P.M. ET on NBC.
