'Godzilla 2' Will Be 'Better' and 'Bigger', Says Scribe
Movie

Screenwriter Max Borenstein shared new details about the sequel to monstrous hit 'Godzilla', saying that the upcoming movie would be 'better' and 'bigger.'

AceShowbiz - There haven't been many details or any related stuff about "Godzilla 2" since it was first announced in 2014. Max Borenstein, "Godzilla" scribe who was brought back to write the sequel, has now shared new details about the upcoming movie. The writer hinted at what fans can expect from the monster movie sequel.

In an interview with Collider during the TCA events for FOX's upcoming TV series "Minority Report", Borenstein said that the upcoming film would be "better" and "bigger." When asked whether being an executive producer/writer of "Minority Report" prevented him from penning the script of "Godzilla 2", Borenstein said, "No. I'm doing it. I'm writing it now, and it's really going to be great."

Just like other movie creators did in general, Borenstein declined to reveal much about the plot. "I don't want to go off book and tell you anything that I'm not allowed to tell you. The response to the first film was really exciting, but now that that world is established, we can do bigger and even better things. We're really stoked," he stressed.

However, it's still unknown what is going to be bigger and better. It may be the monster, the set, the special effects, or can be anything. "Godzilla 2" is scheduled to start production as soon as director Gareth Edwards wraps production on "Star Wars" anthology movie "Rogue One".

"Yeah, I hope. He's making 'Star Wars' right now, so he's a little preoccupied, but yeah. Gareth is amazing. It's exciting to get to work with him again. One of the fun things about that experience is the same fun that it's been on ['Minority Report'], where you really get to have your fingers in the pie," Borenstein shared his experience of working with Edwards. The movie is being delevoped at Warner Bros. and will premiere in the U.S. on June 8, 2018.

In other news, a Japanese reboot to "Godzilla" is said to feature "hybrid" special effects. The movie will be co-directed by Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi, the duo behind "Neon Genesis Evangelion" and the upcoming live-action "Attack on Titan". ABC News reported that the movie would adapt Higuchi special techniques that he used in "Attack on Titans". According to the report, "the work combines computer graphics with manipulating a towering doll of rippling red muscle that resembles a giant biological anatomy chart."
