Working alongside Phil Lord, Miller teased the two upcoming projects, promising fans that they would get a double treat in the summer of 2018.

AceShowbiz - Chris Miller and Phil Lord, the writing/directing duo behind films like "21 Jump Street, "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" and "The LEGO Movie", seems to be at the top of their career. Not only being attached to write and produce an untitled animated Spider-Man movie, but they are also directing an untitled stand-alone Star Wars film II which focuses on the story of Han Solo. In a recent interview with IGN, Miller shared some details about the upcoming projects, hinting that fans could expect more than just new and exciting works from the movies.

When asked about working on the Han Solo film and how to approach such an iconic character, Miller opened up about his struggles. "Oh man, that's our big challenge, right? It's a huge pressure. We always try and find something that's gonna make us... give a fire to our bellies and do a really good job. And this feels like there's a lot of pressure to not screw this up," the director said.

Miller also said that he has to be reverent in depicting the central character. "So we've definitely got that motivation and then the rest of it is about trying to give audiences a fresh experience that doesn't feel like you're just trying to check off some checklist of beats that you're expecting and make something that feels new and exciting for people, but at the same time honoring what was so great about that character," he pointed out.

As the conversation continued, the director was asked why Han Solo is so beloved and he said that Han Solo's "morally ambiguous, but has a clear moral compass." He added, "He's funny, he's off the cuff... When I was a kid on the playground, fights were about who got to play Han Solo. He's just one of the best characters ever created."

As for the animated "Spider-Man" the pair are working on, Miller didn't want to reveal many details about the film. "It is not just another Peter Parker origin story that you've seen 400 times," said Miller. "It is something totally unique and different and not like anything you've seen. That's all I can say... and you're going to love it!"

The "Star Wars" anthology film and the animated "Spider-Man" movie will arrive in the U.S. on May 25, 2018 and on July 27, 2018 respectively.
