Stephen Colbert Invites George Clooney as His First 'Late Show' Guest

The new host of CBS' 'Late Show' is confirmed that he will be joined by the 'Tomorrowland' actor on his first episode in September.

AceShowbiz - Stephen Colbert announced his first guest for his upcoming CBS late-night show which is scheduled to premiere in September. The comedian took it to Twitter to reveal that he would welcome "Tomorrowland" actor George Clooney.

"George Clooney will be my first-ever #LSSC guest on September 8th!" the 51-year-old host broke the news to his online followers. "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" presenter jokingly added, "Could one of you let him know?"

Stephen Colbert takes over the "Late Show" on CBS from David Letterman who aired his final episode on May 20. He joins James Corden who replaced Craig Ferguson on "The Late Late Show" as part of CBS' late-night shakeup.

Colbert recently helped Jon Stewart bid goodbye to Comedy Central's "The Daily Show" where Colbert was a regular before getting his own show, "The Colbert Report". "We owe you, because we learned from you," Colbert said. Stewart will be replaced by Trevor Noah on September 28.
