The show's creator Lee Daniels confirmed on Wednesday, August 5 that Carey will be guest starring on 'Empire' for its season two.

AceShowbiz - Mariah Carey is heading to "Empire". The five-time Grammy-winning singer will be guest starring in season two of the FOX music drama. Series creator Lee Daniels broke the news on Wednesday, August 5 during the ceremony for Carey's Hollywood Walk of Fame. Carey had previously worked with Daniels on "Precious: Based on the Novel PUSH by Sapphire" in 2009 and "Tennessee" in 2008.

The part that Carey will be playing is still not known. Any other details also haven't been shared. The upcoming gig will, in fact, be Carey's first major TV appearance after a few episodes of "Real Husbands of Hollywood", "American Dad", and one episode of "Ally McBeal" back in 2002.

Carey, 45, was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Hollywood. She was joined at the ceremony by her twins Moroccan and Monroe, 4, who posed for photos with her. Her longtime pal and collaborator Brett Ratner was on hand to congratulate her.
