The new HBO series from Scorsese, Mick Jagger and Terence Winter will explore the drug- and sex-fuelled music business through the eyes of a record executive.

AceShowbiz - The first teaser for HBO's new series "Vinyl" from Martin Scorsese, Mick Jagger and Terence Winter has made its way out via Instagram. It includes a glimpse of music instruments, money, drugs and a girl's lips. The snippet comes with a caption which reads, "More coming your way this week," hinting that a trailer will probably be released soon.

The rock drama is set in 1970s New York. It will present a ride through the sex- and drug-addled music business at the dawn of punk, disco, and hip-hop, seen through the eyes of a record label president, Richie Finestra (Bobby Cannavale), who is trying to save his company and his soul without destroying everyone in his path.

At the TCA summer press tour, HBO president Michael Lombardo addressed how much The Rolling Stones' music would be featured on the show. "(Rolling) Stones music will be in the series but not with any more frequency than any other music of the period," he said. "Mick's son is one of our series' regulars. James is playing a young musician who looks not unlike his father. But the band has nothing to do with the Rolling Stones. Very different period. Very different trajectory."

Jagger's son, James Jagger, plays the lead singer of an early punk rock band called the Nasty Bits on the upcoming drama. Olivia Wilde also joins the cast as Richie's former actress/model wife Devon, Ray Romano stars as Zak Yankovich, the Head of Promotions for the label, and Juno Temple portrays Jamie Vine, an ambitious assistant in the A&R department with aspirations of breaking through the glass ceiling.

It is slated to premiere in 2016.
