AceShowbiz - Zayn Malik's solo music is officially underway. The former One Direction singer confirmed he's launching solo career by announcing via Twitter on Wednesday, July 29 that he's now signed to RCA Records, joining fellow big names like Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears and Chris Brown among others.
Zayn first posted a black-and-white photo of him signing the contract. He went on to explain the real reason why he departed 1D in another tweet, "I guess I never explained why I left , it was for this moment to be given the opportunity to show you who i really am! #realmusic #RCA !! #REALME."

Simon Cowell, who recently dropped Zayn from his Syco Records, was also happy for the former "The X Factor" contestant. He congratulated him on the signing via Twitter, "We have been working on this for a while and I am pleased to say congratulations to @Zaynmalik on signing with @RCARecords. I believe they are the perfect label for @ZaynMalik's solo career and I am sure whatever they release together will be special."

The news came just a day after it was revealed that Zayn had signed with management company Turn First Artists, where he'll be managed by Sarah Stennett who's responsible for Iggy Azalea's mainstream career.
