Despite some Native American actors' complaint about the jokes in the Netflix movie, Sandler claims 'The Ridiculous Six' is a 'pro-Indian movie.'

AceShowbiz - Adam Sandler has finally reacted to the controversy surround his upcoming movie "The Ridiculous Six", months after some Native American actors walked off the set because of alleged racist jokes in the Netflix comedy. "It was just a misunderstanding and once the movie is out will be cleared up," he said at the world premiere of his new film "Pixels" on Saturday, July 18.

Insisting that the movie is 100 percent pro-American Indian, he added, "I talked to some of the actors on the set who were there and let them know that the intention of the movie is 100|percent| to just make a funny movie. It's really about American Indians being good to my character and about their family and just being good people. There's no mocking of American Indians at all in the movie. It's a pro-Indian movie. So hopefully when people see it - whoever was offended on set and walked out, I hope they realize that, and that's it. It was kinda taken out of context."

Back in April, some Native American actors who were cast in "The Ridiculous Six" complained about racist jokes in the film. They said the jokes were "disrespectful," and the producer refused to change the script.

Defending the movie, Netflix said in a statement at the time, "The movie has 'ridiculous' in the title for a reason: because it is ridiculous. It is a broad satire of Western movies and the stereotypes they popularized, featuring a diverse cast that is not only part of -- but in on -- the joke."

"The Ridiculous Six", which stars Sandler along with Will Forte, Taylor Lautner, Steve Buscemi, Danny Trejo, Terry Crews, Luke Wilson, Nick Nolte and Rob Schneider, will be released on December 11.
